July 1st- Week 2/Day 4 Matisse (suite) and self portrait puppet
Our last day of the week, suite et fin of the Matisse Collage,
They put the pieces together....I think Matisse would have liked it, n'est ce pas???
Now a chalk version, although Crayola does not seem to think black is a color, we had to improvise with some blue.
Snacks at the Lake and back to work with our self portrait puppets.
Time to pick up lots of creations, show our work, taste some lemon sablés and go home looking forward to a wonderful 4th of July wend (I'll be waiting for 14 Juillet!)
Merci, to all our petits artists and parents, it was a great experience for Caroline and I, we hope to see you all soon around some new art adventures.
June 30- Week 2/Day 3 MATISSE

After a little bio of Matisse, the day started with some upside down warm ups, mostly of Matisse portraits.
Snack time at the Lake with some acrobatics.... and back to work on the same piece, this time in color and cut out paper, just like Matisse!
For the first time even the fastest ones did not have time to finish their work, we'll continue tomorrow before getting to a sidewalk chalk version and moving to self portrait puppets. We will serve some French sablés au citron, so please come by around 11.45 and share with us. Merci et à demain.

June 29- Week 2/Day 2 Musical instuments, Typography and Collage
Our second day started with some Typography on tracing paper followed by an "instrumental" warm up including a bass, a clarinet, drums, ukulele... Drawings were made on music sheet and backgrounds colored.
Break at the Lake: too beautiful to be missed. Caroline's delicious banana bread was devoured quickly.
Back to work, with a large collage, inspired by Picasso, including newspaper, colored paper, typography, and a musical instrument, samples below.
Tomorrow, Matisse, hand cut paper collage and side walk chalk of a large Matisse painting. Please come to the back door around 12 that's where the ephemeral painting will be.
